05 October 2012, Sweetcrude, ABUJA — THE Nigerian Senate has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to sack the Managing Director of Pipelines and Product Marketing Company, PPMC, Mr. John Momoh, over the protracted scarcity of kerosene product, saying kero-direct project of the Federal Government, aimed at making kerosene readily available to Nigerians was a failure.
Senate President, David Mark, speaking, Thursday, during a debate on a bill for an Act to amend the Petroleum Act (2004) sponsored by Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, maintained that those licensed to distribute kerosene to Nigerians should have their licenses withdrawn for failure in their responsibilities.
He said: “The solution to that is that the man who is in charge currently, who is to ensure that kerosene gets to the man on the street and who is not doing it, should be sacked. Let him go.”
