18 February 2014, Lagos – The Chairman/Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu, will dissect the impact of oil theft in the country at the 11th Annual Aret Adams Memorial lecture in Lagos next week.
Mr. Atedo Peterside,Chairman, Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, will chair the lecture which comes up on February 27, 2014 .
The Programme Coordinator of Aret Adams Foundation, Mr. Akin Jokojeje, said this year’s lecture has as theme, “Oil theft: Its Impact on Nigeria.”
He explained that the foundation was established in honour of the late Chief Godwin Aret Adams, the first Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (1988 to 1990), who later became the Special Adviser on Petroleum Resources to the former Head of State.
He said Aret Adams made outstanding contributions toward the growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and the nation’s economy in general.
According to him, the foundation is aimed at promoting and building educational capacity and policy formulations.
