06 November 2013, Sweetcrude, Lagos – Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, SNEPCo, is scheduled to shut down for 28 days for routine maintenance.
Originally scheduled to commence on 5th November, Sweetcrudereports gathered that the date has been moved to either the 7th or 8th November to enable the company do one more off-take.
The Bonga Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel which currently outputs 172,000 barrels per day, b/d, has a rated capacity for 230,000 b/d.
The last time a routine maintenance was carried out on the Bonga was in 2011, even though it was originally scheduled for 2010.
Routine maintenance of the relief valves and the vessel is carried out once every 30 months, an indication that the next routine maintenance may take place between November 2015 and sometime in 2016.
