11 July 2013, News Wires – Singapore’s Emas has said it has received a letter of intent for a $120 million maiden job off Africa for its ice-class deep-water subsea multi-lay vessel, Lewek Constellation.
The Singapore-based contractor said the newbuild’s heavy-lift capabilities would be used on the project to execute jacket and deck installation works next year.
Emas managing director Lionel Lee said the vessel was only a handful of its kind in the world and hoped it would help the contractor “reach ‘new depths’ in our offering of subsea services and engineering solutions”.
Emas’ Lewek Express will undertake the SURF and rigid pipeline installation scope of the contract with an undisclosed explorer.
The contractor also gained a $105 million contract from an oil major to support a deep-water contract off west Africa in the past quarter, which has seen new business wins worth $505 million altogether, according to Emas.
