The 16/7-11 probe is being drilled using semi-submersible Songa Trym in about 80 metres of water in Statoil-operated production licence 072B, with an estimated duration of 39 days including permanent plugging.
State-owned Statoil has a 50% operating stake in the licence, with sole partner ExxonMobil holding the remainder.
