Port Harcourt — The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has taken measures to safeguard its transmission infrastructure by launching a door-to-door campaign against bush burning around its facilities within Benin Region.

The initiative, according to TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, aims to educate local communities about the dangers of bush and waste burning, particularly during the dry season.

Mbah said the campaign, led by the Department of Health, Safety, Environment and Public Affairs, will also tackle the critical issue of trading and constructing buildings under and near transmission lines.

“These practices pose significant hazards to community safety and the integrity of the transmission infrastructure.

“Vandalizing TCN’s installations should not be your source of income. It is our collective national asset. Desist from vandalizing transmission infrastructure,” TCN urged.
