17 June 2013, Sweetcrude/African Press Organization, APO, ROME, Italy — An Italian firm, Technip Italy SpA, has signed a contract with the Egyptian Soukhna Refinery and Petroleum Company to build the country’s largest oil refinery at Ain-Sokhna (approximately 120 km east of Cairo).
Present at the signing were representatives of the Egyptian Oil industry and State Oil Company Egp, with President and CEO Tarek El-Barkatawy, representatives of Technip’s Egyptian partners, international financiers, Technip Italy CEO Marco Villa and the project’s managers, and Ambassador of Italy to Cairo Maurizio Massari.
