28 January 2014 – Paris-based Technip has been awarded an offshore contract with Dubai Petroleum Establishment for an undisclosed amount.
The contract includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the Jalilah B field development project offshore Dubai.
Technip will work on the platform, a 900-tonne deck, a 500-tonne jacket, as well as 12 risers on existing platforms.
More than 110 kilometres of pipeline will also be installed.
Technip will use three of its specialised vessels, including the G1201, which is one of the group’s flagship installation vessels.
Work will be carried out from the company’s operating centre in Abu Dhabi.
This is a fast-tracked project, expected to be completed in the second half of the year.
Technip senior vice president Middle East Vaseem Khan said this contract win has arrived just months after the successful completion of the company’s first subsea project in the Middle East.
