20 October 2013, Lagos – The development which is also expected to generate numerous employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed populace is in support of the federal government’s aspiration to encourage indigenous investments which would create job opportunities for Nigerians.
Speaking with newsmen during the commissioning, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Company, Nkechi Obi noted that apart from also dispensing different sizes of LPG to boost domestic gas usage, a minimum of 600,000 liters of petroleum products would be discharged daily as each of the 20 petrol stations has a minimum daily capacity to dispense over 30,000 liters each.
Each of the stations is also enabled to disburse at pocket friendly prices the different gas cylinder sizes of 3kg, 6kg and the popular 12.5 kg even as the different grades of ‘TechnoGas’ stoves would also be available at the stations and at affordable prices.
Also speaking on the development, the Company’s image maker Mr. Ken Abazie noted that the new stations are strategically located to reflect the company’s national view of operation.
“The new mega stations are strategically located across the different geo-political zones of Nigeria and are positioned to deliver premium value to our esteemed customers,’’ he said.
Abazie named Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Abuja and Onitsha as some of the cities hosting the mega stations, with Lagos having the lion’s share of the outlets because of its position as the nation’s economic hub.
He said that the management of Techno Oil would continuously monitor service delivery at the mega stations to make sure that no customer was short-changed in volume or value while the new mega filling stations would also be a veritable channel for the distribution of Techno Oil range of lubricants nationwide.
“Techno oil lubricants, known for its quality oil & quality performance would be sold to customers at the new stations, thereby saving them the risk of purchasing low quality or adulterated lubricants on the road side,” he said.
He however noted further that the unveiling of the mega stations is coming barely two weeks after the Federal Government commended Techno Oil for setting the pace in popularizing the use of cooking gas in Nigerian homes.
“You recall that Techno Oil has been in the fore front in the advocacy for the switch to safer source of energy for domestic usage,” he said.
He disclosed that the company had also deployed 50 new branded trucks to facilitate haulage of petroleum products to the new retail outlets and to stem the regular breakdown of old trucks.
He said that the trucks were fully branded, “as part of our corporate strategy of backing up the Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government in the energy sector.’’
