17 January 2016, Sweetcrude, Lagos – Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited, TEPNG, says it is delighted that the Institute of Petroleum Studies, IPS, of the University of Port Harcourt has been given a world-class status.
Managing Director of Total E&P, Mr Nicholas Terraz, in his goodwill message at the 12th anniversary ceremony of the IPS in Port Harcourt, expressed happiness over the company’s growing partnership with the institute as well as other stakeholders.
Terraz, represented at the event by Total’s Deputy Managing Director in charge of Deep Water District, Mr. Ahmadu-Kida Musa, said the partnership has been mutually beneficial and has greatly contributed to the development of manpower with special skills for the hydrocarbon industry in Nigeria.
He also assured other partners that the oil firm would sustain its contribution to the growth of the IPS in view of the huge benefit and rewarding result of its investment in the partnership.
The IPS, which was established in 2003, is a postgraduate institution of international standard which evolved from the collaboration between the University of Port Harcourt and IFP School in France.
Operating under the aegis of Centre for Oil and Gas Technology, IPS is sponsored by Total E&P Nigeria Limited and NNPC Joint Venture.
