06 April 2014, News Wires – A UK oil worker employed by driller Diamond Offshore has been killed in an attempted carjacking in Brazil, according to a report.
Operations manager Peter Campsie was shot by two men in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, Scottish newspaper The Press and Journal reported.
The Scot from Montrose was shot as he tried to flee his Lexus in Niteroi, a suburb of Rio. He was on his way back from a business meeting, the newspaper reported.
Campsie was said to have worked in Brazil for 16 years and lived in the offshore services hub of Macae north of Rio with his wife and one daughter. He also had two sons.
Diamond did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday.
