Petroleum-imports11 July 2013, Lagos – The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, on Thursday said that 107 ships were expected to arrive at various port terminals in Lagos between July 11 and August 18.

The NPA, through its daily publication `Shipping Position’, said the ships would be carrying cargoes of fish, bulk wheat, rice, petroleum products and vehicles.

It said in the publication made available to newsmen in Lagos, that some of the ships would bring in steel products, base oil, bulk sugar and malt.

According to the publication, 23 of the 107 ships will come in with petrol (PMS), diesel (AGO), kerosene (DPK) and aviation fuel (JET A1).

It also said that six other ships were waiting to berth and discharge petroleum products at various oil terminals in Lagos.

“Five of the ships are laden with petrol, while one of them will discharge base oil,’’ it said, adding that three other ships were waiting to discharge bulk wheat, bulk fertiliser and general cargoes.

According to the publication, some of the ships are likely to berth at Greenview Development Nigeria Ltd, GDNL, ENL Consortium and New oil Jetty terminals.
