Port Harcourt — One, out of the four PMS cargoes allotted for Rivers State and environs by NNPC Ltd has arrived Port Harcourt, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has confirmed.

Recall that due to the recent hike in the pump price of PMS orchestrated by product shortage, NNPC Ltd had begun massive importation of the product into the country, with four cargoes of over 15million litres each, allotted for Rivers State.

With three other cargoes expected in Port Harcourt alone, and many more in other parts of the country, Nigerians may experience a yuletide without fuel scarcity this year, despite the worsening economic inflation rate in the country.

Speaking on the development, IPMAN Chairman in Rivers State, Dr Joseph Obele said several cargoes imported by NNPC Ltd had arrived in Nigeria, as some of them were currently discharging at the ports.

Obele confirmed that the first cargo which arrived Port Harcourt on Saturday was already at NNPC Ltd’s depot for onward distribution.

He said, “Yes, four cargoes are allotted for Port Harcourt. One arrived yesterday with15,000,000 litres. The product has arrived at NNPC PDO depot Port Harcourt.”
