    2000MW stranded in Nigeria’s power generation

    *TCN to increase transmission capacity by 20,000MW

    17 August 2017, Sweetcrude, Abuja — The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has disclosed that the country has 2000 Megawatts stranded in power generation.

    The Managing Director of TCN, Mr. Usman Mohammed revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

    According to him, the company is collaborating with the government to resolve transmission challenges in the country.

    He also said part of the problem to be resolved is that of right-of-ways for transmission lines in the country.

    The government is sourcing for funds to increase transmission capacity by 20,000 Megawatts over the next few years’ Mr. Mohammed disclosed.
