Lagos — A total of 51 trainees have completed an intensive training programme on solar panel PV installation at the Standard Institute of Technology, SIT, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as part of capacity building initiatives of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB.

The training which covered areas such as procurement and maintenance, in addition to installation, is one of such initiatives taking place simultaneously at six different centres across the country.

Speaking at the SIT, Uyo, close-out ceremony, the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, who was represented by the Board’s Zonal Coordinator for Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, Mrs. Bertha Alaribe, said the Board is deliberate in its capacity building programmes, to help citizens acquire relevant skills that would make them productive and able to add value in economic activities.

“We all need skills to be able to earn a living,” he emphasised, while urging the outgoing trainees to put the skills acquired to use and to be good ambassadors of the NCDMB.

He commended them for conducting themselves well throughout the training, noting that the reports he received were satisfactory.

A representative of Fonbol Energy Limited, facilitators of the training, commended the NCDMB for its capacity building programmes and for giving his company an opportunity to contribute to the development of vital skills.

He said the trainees demonstrated passion for knowledge acquisition all through the training, and wished them well in their respective endeavours.

The outgoing trainees all expressed profound appreciation to NCDMB and Fonbol for such golden opportunity for the training and promised to continue on their own to improve their knowledge and practical skills.

All the outgoing trainees were provided with starter packs to enable them to put their skills into practice without delay.

On the NCDMB team were the Zonal Coordinator for Abia and Imo States, Dr. Emma Ohaere, and Mr. Ifeanyi Nwokemodo, Supervisor, Corporate Communications Department.
