22 July 2013, Lagos – Sixty nine ships are expected to arrive the Lagos ports from July 22 to August 18, the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has said.
NPA said this in its daily publication, “Shipping Position” made available to newsmen on Monday in Lagos.
The authority said that six ships would sail in with vehicles; 14 ships would bring in petroleum products, while 31 others would come in with containers.
It said that other ships would sail in with general cargoes, bulk wheat, fresh fish, bulk fertilizer, base oil, steel products, bulk sugar, bulk salt and bulk corn.
According to NPA, five ships are waiting to discharge petrol at the ports, while two others will discharge bulk fertilizer and general cargo.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that 22 ships are currently discharging containers, bulk wheat, general cargo, bulk fertilizer, bulk urea, steel products and petroleum products.
