26 August 2011, Sweetcrude, Lagos – This year’s NNPC/Chevron summer tennis clinic is hotting up at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Clinic in Onikan.
According to the Coordinator of the project, Chris Enahoro, the clinic, which started Monday, has seen a surge in the number of players entries even as he stressed that the players have been giving very good account of themselves during their stay at the summer camp.
“The clinic is hotting up because the players are really excited to be here and we are doing our best to train them on the ways to play tennis. I see a great competition ahead if the tempo is attained”, said Enahoro.
The three-week summer tennis clinic is for children between ages 5 – 18 years. This CNL-sponsored event is part of two tennis events sponsored by the company, the first being the Junior Masters Tournament held early in the year.
The objective of the clinic, according to Chevron’s General Manager, Policy, Government & Public Affairs, Engr Femi Odumabo, is to engage the youths particularly during the holiday period; to develop their tennis skills and to afford them an opportunity to participate in Lawn tennis events and tournaments
