04 January 2012, Sweetcrude, KANO – Hundreds of protesters have occupied the strategic city centre in Kano during a third day of anger over the removal of fuel subsidy by the Jonathan led administration.

The city centre a stretch of 500 metres between Silver Jubilee and Gidan Murtala round about has been completely taken over by the protesters forcing traffic gridlock in the city.

The entire expanse of land has been cordoned off by security agents as the city watched in apprehension over the likely response from security operatives to address the situation.

The protesters are equally not taking chances as they exhibited high sense of civility while sending appeal to those who could not make it to the strategic city centre to send food, water and other items to keep them permanently there until Government reversed itself.
