10 April 2012, Sweetcrude, PORT HAR COURT – SOME ex-militants are threatening fresh attack on Niger Delta oil facilities, claiming the Federal Government has failed to integrate them into the amnesty programme after they had surrendered their arms.
The group is led by ‘General’ Owei Paboh, popularly known as Lukuluku.
Paboh said in a statement on Monday that the ex-militants have given the government seven days to accommodate them in the amnesty programme, failure of which they would commence attacks on oil installations.
The angry militants on Monday blocked some federal roads, claiming they were behind recent attacks on oil installations in the Niger Delta. They said they would return to the creeks to cause havoc if the government did not meet their demands.
The statement by Paboh said the government must begin immediate payment of their allowances as enshrined in the amnesty programme for peace to reign.
