24 September 2012, Sweetcrude, LUANDA – ITALIAN oil services firm, Saipem, has secured $950 million engineering and construction contracts in Angola, Kazakhstan and the UK North Sea.
In Angola, Saipem won an engineering, procurement, construction and in installation contract from Cabgoc for the Congo River Crossing Pipeline project.
The project is taking place offshore Angola and The Democratic Republic of Congo and involves three subsea pipelines totaling around 110 kilometres in water depths of up to 117 metres.
Saipem will put is pipelaying vessel Castoro 7 on the job beginning in the fourth quarter this year with completion set for the fourth quarter next year.
The Italian has also inked an EPCI deal with URF in Angola for gas export pipelines totaling around 100 kilometres in 70 metres of water. The job started at the end of next year and will run until the second quarter of 2015.
In the North Sea, Saipem has signed two technology and innovation activities contracts for unspecified clients. The deals begin separately in the second quarter of 2014 and the third quarter of 2015.
The company also confirmed it is fabricating, outfitting and commissioning a Keppel FELS B-class jack-up rig for Teniz Burgylau for use in the Caspian Sea.
