04 October 2012, Sweetcrude, LAGOS — SIXTEEN ships are currently waiting to berth and discharge petroleum products at various oil terminals in Lagos, the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has said.
NPA said in the “Shipping Position”, its daily publication made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos, that 11 of the ships were carrying petrol.
According to the publication, two of the ships are carrying kerosene; two, diesel; and one, aviation fuel.
It also indicated that six other ships are waiting to discharge general cargoes, including rice, fish, bulk wheat and containers.
The publication added that 88 ships with different cargoes would arrive at the ports bet- ween October 3 and October 28.
It said that 13 of the expected ships would sail in with petroleum products.
