03 November 2012, Sweetcrude, Warri – The Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC, has appointed Matrix Energy in Warri to assist in the prompt dispensation of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, in Delta state to ease fuel scarcity problem in some states.
Matrix Energy with large products storage facilities situated at Ifiekporo community in Warri South council area of Delta has so far received over 22million litres of PMS and is set to dispense about 6million litres on a daily basis to cover states like Delta, Edo, Ondo, Osun, Rivers and neighbouring states as long as the NNPC keeps discharging the products at its Tank Farm.
As at the weekend, the vessel carrying the product was seen discharging PMS into the company storage Tanks with Matrix re-assuring the public of their commitment to supply the product promptly ease to acute fuel scarcity problem in the state where fuel now sell for between N130 to N140 per litre with long queues.
Mr. Luqman Olalade Salam-Alada of Matrix Energy said with the regular supply of the product from PPMC to the tank farm, they are set to dispense over 6million litres of PMS to fuel tankers from the different states daily, noting that with their large storage and efficient dispensing facilities the issue of product scarcity would become a thing of the past in these states from Monday.
He however appealed to the Federal Government to make haste and settle the Federal government indebtedness to the company to enable her commence importation of PMS, expressing regret that the difficulty currently being experienced in the country is as a result of the fact that NNPC is the only one currently importing fuel into the country because private deport owners cannot import for now.
He assured that from Monday, the story would be different when the fuel tankers starts loading from the depot and going to the different state
