07 February 2013, DUTSE — Four officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Jigawa State were beaten to stupor by kerosene black marketers and fuel attendants at the Dutse NNPC mega-station while their official vehicle was smashed.

According to investigations, men of the NSCDC went to the station where they discovered improprieties in the sale of kerosene which made them to direct the attendants to adhere to the arrangement that would enable other people to procure the product.

This, according to our sources, led to a disagreement with the attendants and black marketers on one side against the security personnel who were beaten. The fourth security personnel received knife cuts.

Efforts to contact the state Commandant of the NSCDC, however, proved abortive as he was not on seat while his phone was unreachable

However, one of the senior officials of the corps who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed that four of their personnel who were brutalized at the mega station are currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Dutse.
