07 March 2013, Lagos – Gunmen have reportedly attacked the Armada Tuah 22 anchor handling tug supply vessel in Nigerian waters and kidnapped three crew.

Security sources told Reuters that the captain, chief engineer and second engineer of the Malaysian-flgged vessel had been abducted in the 4th March attack.

Pirates boarded the Bumi Armada vessel around 90 kilometres off the coast of the Brass region in the Niger Delta, the sources said.

One of the sailors kidnapped was Indonesian, the sources said. Nigeria’s navy spokesman gave no comment.

A fishing vessel, Orange 7, was reportedly attacked on 2 March in a similar position and one of the crew was killed.
