    Liberia: State oil firm’s VP resigns

    johnson sirleaf18 September 2013, Monrovia — Hours following the resignation of Mr Robert Sirleaf, the chairman of the National Oil Company of Liberia, NOCAL, the Vice president for Public Affairs has also resigned.

    A statement from NOCAL said: “The National Oil Company of Liberia announces that its Vice President for Public Affairs, Mr. Israel Akinsanya, has resigned from his position due to pressing family matters. Mr. Akinsanya’s resignation takes immediate effect”.

    “Mr. Cyrus Wleh Badio, Press Manager, will be acting as head of Public Affairs Department until further notice,” the statement added.

    Mr Sirleaf, the NOCAL chairman who resigned earlier is the son of President Ellen Johson-Sirleaf.
