09 September 2014, News Wires – Norwegian offshore contractor Aker Solutions is set to slash between 80 and 100 jobs at its Bergen office, according to a report.
The move, reported by state TV channel NRK, follows talk earlier this summer that as many as 200 jobs could be eliminated at the contractor as a result of spending cutbacks by Statoil and other operators in the maintenance and modification business area.
The planned redundancies, announced to Aker employees on Tuesday, are due to take effect from 1 October with laid-off workers set to receive seven months of salary in compensation.
