24 October 2014, Lagos – The National Coordinator, Ethics and Values Cooperatives of the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values, Comrade Ralph Ogbaji has called for the release of the N220 billion of the cooperative fund being held by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Ogbaji made the appeal at a workshop organised to sensitize members of the cooperatives and stakeholders on the need to remain steadfast having met the requirements in accessing the fund.
He called on the CBN governor to come to the cooperatives’ aid to enable them develop their business ideas and become self-reliant, adding that the option of 2billion for each state government would undermine the very essence of the money.
According to the coordinator, the cooperative societies have devised curtailing strategies to ensure that all their members who access the fund have viable business plans and capable of repaying any load offered them.
