29 December 2014, News Wires – The US subsidiary of Singapore’s Keppel Offshore & Marine has landed a contract to build, what it claims to be, one of the world’s largest land rigs.
Keppel AmFels was awarded the contract which is valued at more than US$100 million and will see it carry out the engineering, procurement and construction of the rig which will be capable of operating in harsh conditions.
Keppel did not name the client in Monday’s release, saying only that they were a “major operator” and that the rig was scheduled for delivery in mid-2016.
It added the contract was not expected to have a material impact on its net tangible assets or earnings per share for the current financial year.
