12 March 2015, Makurdi – The Department of Petroleum Resources has shut seven more filling stations in Otukpo and Aliede Local Government Areas of Benue State.
DPR said they were shut for under-delivering, diversion as well as hoarding of fuel (Premium Motor Spirit or petrol).
The DPR’s Operations Controller in charge of Benue and Nasarawa states, Abdullahi Isa, alleged that the marketers were also selling above the pump price of N87 per litre.
Isa maintained that as of Thursday, the daily supply of PMS to Benue had risen to about 31 trucks.
It was learnt that most of the outlets in the areas were selling the product between N110 and N120 per litre.
However, some of the marketers, who craved anonymity, said they bought the product for between N90 and N100 per litre.
