15 May 2015, Lagos – The Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Niger Delta, codenamed Operation Pulo Shield, yesterday, paraded four suspects, among them, a 17 -year- old, for their alleged involvement in sea piracy and other criminal acts on Bayelsa State waterways.
The suspects include Robinson Sunday (22), David Mate (21), Jockey Daukoru (17) and Lelegite (18).
They were said to be behind most of the sea attacks in the creeks and rivulets of the East senatorial district of the state.
Parading the suspects at the JTF headquarters in Yenagoa, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Campaign Centre, Lt. Col. Isa Ado, on behalf of the JTF Commander, Major General Emmanuel Atewe, said the suspects were arrested at Mbikiri and Nembe 1 communities by troops deployed at Fontua, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Items recovered from the suspects, include one AK 47 rifle with registration number QQ1798, four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one G3 rifle loaded with 7.62mm NATO and one pump action gun loaded with cartridges.
