22 September 2015, News Wires – Norwegian yard Nymo has reportedly secured a contract with GE Oil & Gas for fabrication of subsea structures in connection with Eni’s Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) deep-water field development project off Ghana.
The 18 structures will include units for flowline end termination, subsea isolation valves and a gas lift riser base, and will be installed in a water depth of between 130 and 1600 metres at the field located 60 kilometres off Ghana’s western region.
Nymo is set to kick off construction work in November with completion scheduled for the first quarter of 2017, according to a statement cited by Norwegian news site Offshore.no.
The contract, for which a value was not disclosed, will provide work for between 40 and 60 personnel to buffet the effects of an industry slump that has resulted in thousands of lay-offs in Norway.
It comes on the heels of a newly awarded deal for National Oilwell Varco to supply flexible pipesfor the deep-water oil and gas project.
The OCTP cluster of oil and non-associated gas fields will be developed using a floating production, storage and offloading vessel hooked up to subsea installations, with the Italian operator targeting first oil in 2017 and first gas in 2018.
