01 October 2016, Dar es Salaam – Stakeholders engaged in the hydrocarbons industry are now busy giving their views on the Oil and Gas Revenue Management Act, it has been revealed.
The law will spell out the regulatory and legal framework of managing discoveries and control of the natural gas reserves and possible future oil finds. Deputy Minister for Energy and Minerals Dr Medard Kalemani disclosed this after opening the local content workshop held in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
He said government has given stakeholders three months to air their views before endorsement by the end of this year. Last year the Act, which requires each investor in the hydrocarbons industry to employ locals, was endorsed.
