OpeOluwani Akintayo 12 August 2017, Sweetcrude, Lagos – The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, has warned against encroachment on the right of way of electrical installations.
It issued the warning on Friday while reassuring the public of its readiness to bring to book those against its regulations.
According to the Commissioner, Legal, Licensing and Compliance Division, NERC, Dafe Akpeneye, blocking the right way of electrical installations will not augur well for safety and wellbeing.
One of the age-long challenges in the power sector has been blockages of right of way of cable installations through erection of houses, shops, schools, etc on power cables channels.
“NERC will continue to work with the government in ensuring that we do our work well, and that there are no blockages to right of way of electrical installations,” he said.
“Anybody caught violating this rule, will be brought to book,” he added.
