    Total reaffirms support of Local Content

    12 January 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos — Total Upstream Nigeria Limited, TUPNI has reaffirmed its adherence to strict conflict of interest, compliance policies, and support of the Nigeria Local Content Act regarding the implementation of same during bid tender process.

    TUPNI stated this following a petition made by Indigenous Vessels Operators Association of Nigeria, VOAN to the Senate Committee on Local Content against Total.

    VOAN alleges that TUPNI’s call for tender for the provision of support vessels was marred with bribery and corruption.

    The petition made by VOAN prompted TUPNI and the National Petroleum Investment Management Services, NAPIMS to attend a meeting convened by the Senate on January 9th to provided clarification on an ongoing call for tender for the provision of support vessels.

    At the end of the meeting, Total Upstream Nigeria Limited said that it has strict Conflict of Interest and Compliance policies.

    “Total Upstream Nigeria Limited also wishes to state that it rejects all forms of bribery and corruption.

    “Total Upstream Nigeria Limited and its partners remain committed to the development of Nigerian Content and will continue to maintain strong and steadfast partnerships with the Nigerian government, NNPC and indigenous companies in developing the country’s hydrocarbon industry,” Charles Ebereonwu, External Relations Manager of TUPNI stated
