16 September 2018, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt — The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has appealed for the patience and understanding of customers over power outage in parts of Port Harcourt metropolis and its environs.

Explained the reason for the development, Manager, Corporate Communications of PHED, Mr. John Onyi, said the power outage is due to a faulty 60MVA power transformer belonging to Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, at Trans Amadi Industrial Area.

Onyi announced that the affected areas are Woji, the entire Trans Amadi, Rumuodomaya axis and some parts of Aba Road.

He, however, disclosed that the company was authoritatively informed that the technical crew from the TCN has been mobilised to the site to ensure that the faulty equipment is fixed soon.
