Tripoli — Libya is producing 1.2 million barrels a day (bpd) of crude, Tripoli-based finance minister Faraj Bomtar said on Wednesday.
“We expect a further increase in the coming days,” he told reporters when presenting the 2019 budget. He gave no details.
The OPEC oil producer this month reopened the 315,000 bpd El Sharara oilfield which was shut down in December after state guards and tribesmen seized it.
Its output was 270,000 bpd as of Tuesday, a field engineer said.
