Lagos — Group Managing Director, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mele Kyari has said that Nigeria’s crude oil and condensate production has risen to 2.3million barrels per day.

The GMD said this while appearing on Money Line with Nancy show on the African Independent Television on Tuesday.

The development came after many years of low production especially due to the OPEC+ cuts which eventually failed early last month.
“Oil production as of Sunday, for the first time in many years, rose to 2.3 million barrels per day.

He added that the country hopes to reach a three million barrels per day production as stated in the 2020 national budget.

”Our aspiration is to grow production to 3 million barrels per day and we believe that the contribution of local companies in this regard will be meaningful,” he said.
