    Buhari backs sack of TCN boss, appoints new

    Lagos — Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Mr. Mamman Sale, on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari is in support of sack of Managing Director, Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, Mr. Usman Mohammed.

    A statement by Sale’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Mr. Aaron Atimas, in Abuja, had announced the sack of Mr. Sale with immediate effect.

    According to the Minister, the move was necessary as part of the continued measures to reposition and improve performance of the nation’s power sector.

    The statement also announced other major changes in the TCN, including the appointment of Mr. Sule Abdulaziz, as acting in capacity of the Managing Director of TCN, and confirmed the appointment of four directors who had been on acting position in the company.

    They are: Mr Victor Adewumi as Executive Director, Transmission Services Provider; Mr. M Lawal, Executive Director, Independent Systems Operator; Mr. Ahmed lsa-Dutse, Executive Director, Finance & Accounts; and Mr. Justin Dodo, Executive Director, Human Resources & Corporate Services.
