Port Harcourt — A group known as South South Youth Initiative has demanded for employment from the Nigerian Port Authority, NPA, for youths of the south-south region.
The youth group made the demand during a courtesy visit to the chairman of the board of NPA, Mr. Akin Rickett, in his country home at Ugep, Obubra LGA of Cross River State.
President of the group, Imeabe Oscar, on behalf of the group, also decorated the NPA boss, saying that the decoration depicts Rickett’s developmental stride in the  country.

Responding, the NPA Board Chairman promised to use his office to ensure job creation and human development.

Rickett commended the group in their struggle to protect the interest of the South South region, and promised that their request and messages will get to the appropriate office.
He also commended the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Chibuike Amaechi, for finding him worthy to serve in the capacity of the chairman of the NPA board.
The chairman urged the youths to avoid cultism and criminal activities that was capable of jeopardising their future.
