Lagos — Total Upstream Nigeria Limited, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and its partners have commissioned a Maternal and Child Referral Centre in Hong, Adamawa State fitted with state-of-the-art facilities.
The move is part of efforts by Total Upstream, the NNPC and partners to contribute to the delivery of effective health care for the people of the area.
While commissioning the project, the Speaker of the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Aminu Iya Abbas described the gesture as timely and apt for changing the health care narrative of the community.
Both the Managing Director of Total Upstream Nigeria Limited, Mike Sangster and the Group General Manager, NAPIMS, Bala Wunti had while speaking via Zoom, pointed out that the project is borne out of the desire to impact positively on the society, adding that this is one among other projects across the country.
The project is in furtherance of Total Upstream, the NNPC and partners unrivaled commitments to Corporate Social Responsibility.
The Project Manager, Hyellakuri Samaila Malgwi said the project is based on specification and in line with Total Upstream’s conformity with the best of standards.
Also present at the commissioning were the representative of the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Stephen John, the Executive chairman, Adamawa Hospital Management Board, Dr. Zainab Kwanchi, the Principal Medical Officer, Hong General Hospital, Dr. Andrew Mshelia and the District Head of Hong, Umar Babangida.
