    Monthly SweetcrudeReports September 2022. No more marginal fields, discretional blocks award, says govt

    Going by recent indication by the government, Nigeria will no longer offer marginal fields to investors nor award oil blocks on discretional basis. This came as Nigeria’s oil and gas sector regulator officially declared the era of marginal fields and discretional oil block allocation in the country over, citing provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA.
