Port Harcourt — Independent oil firm, Seplat Energy Plc has announced plans to partner with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB in the area of human capital development as well as establishment of skills acquisition centres in the country.

Chief Executive Officer of Seplat Energy Plc, Mr. Roger Brown, made the announcement when he led management of the firm on a courtesy visit to the Executive Director of NCDMB, Engr Simbi Wabote at the Board’s liaison office.

Brown explained that his visit was imperative in order to respond and talk through on some of the issues raised by NCDMB in a letter addressed to Seplat Energy Plc outlining their irregularities and non-compliance to the NOGICD Act, 2010.

According to him, Seplat Energy under his leadership was working tirelessly to address all the issues raised by the Board.

He said, “We at Seplat will partner with NCDMB in the areas of Human Capacity Development and in the building of skills centers that will be centre of excellence in the country.”

Responding, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote, charged the Seplat boss and his team to always abide by the Nigerian Content Act and ensure to take cognizant steps to address the issues raised by the Board.

Wabote further urged the management of Seplat Energy to take human capital development more seriously by investing heavily in it.

He noted that NCDMB rated Seplat Energy high because the company was a typical Nigerian Content flagship initiative.
