    KTS Oil & Gas sponsors Nigeria’s 11th beach rugby games

    Port Harcourt — An indigenous oil and gas servicing company, KTS Oil & Gas Services Limited, has lent its support to the upcoming 11th edition of the Sandie Beach Rugby games taking place in Lagos.

    In a groundbreaking collaboration, TurboCrest Sports and Landmark Beach, are joining forces to bring the exhilarating world of rugby to the shores of Nigeria through the Sandie Beach Rugby event.

    Speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of KTS Oil & Gas, Tom Otuaga, explained that his company has at heart, the development and soci-economc well-being of youths in its host communities, hence the company’s partnership with the organisers of the rugby event.

    Otuaga said, “We are delighted to understand that a key objective of Sandie Beach Rugby is to provide a constructive and engaging outlet for the youths.

    “By promoting active participation in sports, the event strives to keep young people off the streets and away from potentially harmful activities. KTS Oil & Gas’ support underscores our commitment to investing in the well-being and future of Nigerian youths, especially in our host communities.

    “With its unique blend of strength, strategy, and teamwork, rugby has the potential to become a major sport in Nigeria. The collaboration between TurboCrest Sports, Landmark Beach, and the support from our company is pivotal in developing rugby at the grassroots level. This event acts as a catalyst for the growth of rugby, not only in professional circles but also in schools and universities across the nation and we are glad to be a part of it.”

    Announcing the sport event, TurboCrest Sports Manager, Olatubosun Johnson, said what makes the 11th edition of the games more remarkable was the significant financial support from KTS Oil & Gas, an industry leader committed to fostering community development and promoting sports in Nigeria.

    “Sandie Beach Rugby is not just a sport event; it’s a celebration of athleticism and community spirit. With KTS Oil & Gas generously backing the event, it aims to draw sports enthusiasts and tourists alike to the beautiful Landmark Beach.

    “This not only showcases Nigeria as a vibrant sports destination but also boosts local businesses, hotel sales, and the overall economy.”

    Also speaking on the event, the CEO of Landmark Beach, Mr. Paul Onwuanibe, said Sandie Beach Rugby was a platform for identifying and nurturing talents at an early age.

    “The event can extend its reach to universities and secondary schools, fostering a love for rugby and providing young athletes with opportunities to showcase their skills. This initiative is a step towards building a strong foundation for rugby in Nigerian educational institutions,” he said.

    The Sandie Beach Rugby event will take place on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Landmark Beach, Lekki, Lagos.
