    Nigeria tasks Greenville LNG on trains expansion

    – Assures of resolving gas supply crisis

    Port Harcourt — Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, has tasked the management of Greenville LNG Limited, on expansion of its gas liquefaction plants in order to bridge the demand gap and create more jobs for the country.

    Ekpo has also assured of his readiness to work with relevant stakeholders in resolving the crisis in gas (feedstock) supplies to ensure that all investments in gas value-chain operate at optimal capacities.

    The Minister speaking when he undertook a tour of Green Ville LNG Ltd facility in Rumuji, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, expressed delight with the state-of-art facilities in gas firm, saying that the additional jobs created for Nigerians in the plant was fulfilling.

    “Let me commend the foresight, dedication and patriotism of all investors and partners in this LNG plant (currently operating on 3 trains) given the volume of LNG it is supplying to bridge the demand gap in the domestic market.

    “I encourage them to continue to pursue further trains expansion programmes as promised.

    “My assurance to managers of Green Ville LNG, and indeed all investors in LNG production and distribution plants in Nigeria, is that I will work assiduously with my team and other relevant organisations to resolve the crisis in gas (feedstock) supplies to ensure these investments operate at optimal capacities.”
