Lagos — The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC, Barr. Pius Akutah, has received a presentation from three consultants to test their digital proficiency for the execution of the Council’s Enterprise Content Management Systems, ECMS.

This development is in line with Akutah’s commitment to harnessing technology to drive the Council’s mandate as the nation’s Port Economic Regulator. Previously, a committee was inaugurated to drive the implementation of the ECMS.

According to Akutah, the project is important, and the Council will consider the most suitable consultants to execute the digitalisation project.

In her remarks, the Head of Procurement Unit, Hajia Amina gave an insight into the project, noting that out of the fifteen consultants that expressed their readiness to execute the project, only three were nominated by the management.

She said: “The evaluation started in July after advert publication in the national newspapers with an initial invitation of fifteen consultants.

“However, the management resolved by nominating three consultants, Obededom Network Limited, Greydots Initiative Limited and Arit of Africa Limited after a comprehensive evaluation.

“Meanwhile, the Procurement unit has been poised to select the most suitable consultant to implement the ECMS, reflecting Akutah’s vision for a more- efficient and organized NSC.”

As the Port Economic Regulator, the Council promotes fair trade practices and facilitates trade in the industry.
