    Nigeria, Kazakhstan explore gas sector partnership to boost investment

    Port Harcourt — Nigeria and Kazakhstan are set to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the gas sector, as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, hosted a high-level delegation from Kazakhstan.

    The Kazakhstan delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Alibek Kuantryov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Algeria, Anuarbek Akhmetov, engaged in discussions on investment opportunities and strategic collaborations in the gas industry.
    Ekpo reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to attracting foreign investment, assuring the delegation that the country offers a business-friendly environment with policies that support seamless investments and the unhindered repatriation of funds.
    “Nigeria is open for business, and we are committed to fostering partnerships that will drive growth in the gas sector. Our policies ensure a conducive investment climate, and we welcome Kazakhstan as a strategic partner,” Ekpo stated.
    The meeting highlighted areas of mutual interest, particularly in gas infrastructure development, LNG expansion, and energy security, with both parties exploring avenues for enhanced collaboration between their respective industries.
