Lagos — Schneider Electric, the global leader in energy management and automation, and recognised sustainability leader, has announced the appointment of Mitsumi Distribution as an official distributor for its Secure Power solution portfolio in East Africa.
This strategic partnership strengthens Schneider Electric’s presence in the region, ensuring its channel partners have greater access to its solutions as demand for data centres and resilient power infrastructure continues to grow.
Headquartered in Kenya and with offices in Pan-Africa and the Middle East, Mitsumi Distribution is a leading technology distributor with almost 30 years of experience, operating in 36 countries and with 45 vendor partnerships spanning enterprise, volume and telecom distribution.
As a former APC distribution partner, Mitsumi is today a natural fit to drive the expansion of Schneider Electric’s Secure Power portfolio across Africa, which is experiencing rapid digital transformation such as increased investment in data centres, cloud computing, and enterprise IT solutions. APC was acquired by Schneider Electric in 2007.
Furthermore, key to East Africa’s sustained ICT growth is the provision of reliable power infrastructure, and Schneider Electric’s Secure Power portfolio readily meets this demand with its comprehensive range of products such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), cooling solutions, and edge computing infrastructure.
Ratnakar Vandanapu, Business Unit Head, Mitsumi Distribution, comments: “We are excited to expand our partnership with Schneider Electric, bringing industry-leading Secure Power solutions to the East African channel marketplace. Our deep market expertise, strong logistical capabilities, and established relationships with over 3200 reseller partners make us well-positioned to support the growing need for reliable power solutions in the region.”
Ben Selier, Vice President, Secure Power, Anglophone Africa at Schneider Electric, adds: “Schneider Electric is committed to enabling the digital transformation of East Africa through sustainable and resilient power solutions. Partnering with Mitsumi Distribution allows us to efficiently serve customers in the region with our innovative Secure Power portfolio, ensuring uptime and business continuity for critical infrastructures”
Mitsumi Distribution brings a wealth of expertise and value-added services to the East African market, including:
    ·       Marketing know-how – comprehensive market analysis and competitive positioning.
    ·       Logistical support – end-to-end logistics, warehousing, and rapid stock movement across multiple geographies.
    ·       Business development – partner recruitment, pipeline management, and channel expansion.
    ·       Other support services – next-day delivery, ex-warehouse options, and customised credit solutions.
    ·       Dedicated product teams – focused support across various market segments, including SMBs, enterprises, and government sectors.
With a modern 100 000-square-foot logistics facility in Jebel Ali, Dubai, and a growing network of over 3,200 partners, Mitsumi Distribution is well-equipped to enhance the availability and deployment of Schneider Electric’s Secure Power solutions across East Africa.
