Port Harcourt — Indigenous oil firm, Moni Pulo Limited has sealed a strategic partnership on the Gulf of Guinea Gas Pipeline project, marking a significant push toward regional gas integration and monetisation across West and Central Africa.

The company confirmed the development following high-level engagements with Equatorial Guinea’s Vice President, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, and officials of EGLNG in Malabo, where discussions advanced implementation plans for the cross-border infrastructure project.

Executive Chairman of Moni Pulo, Dr. Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs, described the deal as a major milestone in unlocking stranded gas resources and deepening regional energy cooperation.

“Moni Pulo Limited confirms that it has agreed to enter into a strategic partnership in furtherance of the Gulf of Guinea Gas Pipeline project,” she said.

The project, linking Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, is expected to boost gas utilisation, enhance energy security, and support industrial growth across participating countries.

Lulu-Briggs noted that Moni Pulo’s participation is backed by significant gas reserves and technical capacity.

“As one of Nigeria’s foremost indigenous upstream oil and gas companies, Moni Pulo brings substantial technical capability including certified proven gas reserves in excess of 1 trillion cubic feet,” she stated.

She emphasised that the initiative represents a critical step toward expanding gas monetisation pathways and building resilient energy infrastructure across the region.

“The project represents a consequential step in deepening energy cooperation across Africa… to unlock stranded gas resources, expand monetization pathways, and strengthen infrastructure,” she said.

According to her, the pipeline has the potential to transform the regional energy landscape by driving industrial expansion and delivering economic value.

“We believe the project has the potential to materially enhance regional gas utilization, reinforce energy security, stimulate industrial expansion, and generate meaningful economic returns,” she added.

Moni Pulo also pledged full commitment to delivering the project alongside governments, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

The development underscores growing momentum among African energy players to leverage cross-border infrastructure to optimise gas resources and drive long-term economic growth.
