18 April 2012, Sweetcrude, YENAGOA—ACTION Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has warned that a resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta could spell doom for the country, especially as the nation’s security forces battle to quell the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northern part of the country.

ACN Publicity Secretary in Bayelsa State, Mr. Christopher Abariowei, said this in a statement in Yenagoa, following threats by Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, to intensify attacks on oil facilities in the creeks of the Niger Delta.

The party condemned the incessant attacks on the Agip Tebidaba-Brass pipeline by armed groups operating in the Niger Delta, describing same as sad and capable of truncating the gains of the last four years.
