Port Harcourt — Oil export activities have resumed from the Nigerian Agip Oil Company’s Brass Oil Export Terminal in Nembe, Bayelsa State, after fixing damages caused by vandalism of its assets, Eni, the parent company has announced.

Recall that blasts at Agip’s facility in Nembe, on February 28th and March 5th 2022 cut oil export from the Italian company’s Brass Export Terminal by some 25,000 barrels per day, and deferred over 13millionscf per day from the terminal.

The incident led the company to declare a force majeure on expected oil output at its Brass export terminal , which was eventually lifted recently.

Media Relations Manager, in charge of African Operations at Eni, Mr Domenico Spins, explained rgat the Force Majeure which signals restoration of normalcy was lifted on March 18.

“Following the restoration of the Ogoda/Brass 24″ oil pipeline at Okparatubo at Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, which was hit by blast on March 5th caused by a third-party interference, force majeure has been lifted at Brass terminal, Bonny NLNG and Okpai Power Plant effective March 18.”

Meanwhile, he National Oil Spills Detection and Response Agency had confirmed that 20 barrels leaked in the February 28 incident, while 1,249barrels were discharged into the environment in the March 5 incident.
